Brethren,

The evening of June 3rd, 2010 will stay in my memory for a long time. It was great to see my family, friends and co-workers at lodge. I would like to thank my father W. Bro. Alec Coles for undertaking the task of being the Installing Master and my mother Maureen for helping out with the refreshments afterwards. I can’t miss out thanking Joanne, Jackie and Simon.  I would like to thank W. Bro. Robert Kennedy for a great Masonic year. It was a pleasure to be a part of your team and you have done Unity Lodge proud.

At our emergent meeting we celebrated the start of the summer break with our annual fun night with our families. It was great to see faces I haven't seen in a while. We dined with our traditional order of Fish and Chips. From there the entertainment began and by the end of the night everyone was leaving with a smile.

I hope everyone had a great summer and now ready to embark on another Masonic year. Our journey starts with a number of degrees being planned with several of our brethren being ready to take their next steps. In November we will be throwing our Ladies night and in December the Children’s Christmas party and Livonia Installation. Burns night will be in January and May is the annual Livonia visitation.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Bro. Wallace Hakesley on July 10th 2010. Although unable to attend Lodge for several years he was a proud member of Unity Lodge. Also we sadly learned that W.Bro. Duncan Davidson’s father in Scotland was in medical distress. Our thoughts and prayers are with these brethren, and all those who are in ill and distressed circumstances.
